Week Notes 05

I've removed the first half of this week notes as I think I would like to keep those personal for the time being. My apologies here if you saw it prior to this edit.

On a happier note, I did finish the 2nd season for Fragrance of the First Flower! It was a nice ending and I think it now ranks as one of the best Asian queer dramas I've seen. The 1st season is pretty weak compared to the 2nd, so I do hope people still decide to continue with the show! The character growth is realistic. So much so that Ting-Ting got a full time job as an event planner after she realized that jumping around jobs constantly might not benefit her relationship with Yi-Ming. Yi-Ming, on the other hand, is a pretty good representation of how a lot of Chinese women are. The seemingly calm, stoic, and nurturing type. She learns to embrace her emotions and her needs, and to express those with Ting-Ting.

I think there's quite a bit to talk about, so I'll keep my further thoughts in my full review!

All in all, it was a tiring week, emotionally. I love and care for my family, but my parents and family in general are a difficult subject for me to write about, and especially so here. I do understand that from an outside perspective, and perhaps from a non-Asian lens, this whole situation might not make as much sense. But either way, I appreciate you reading (whoever you are!) these random little notes haha!
