My Favourite Video Game Content Creator is Coincidentally a Grandma
This post is solely made to share my love for Britta Food4Dogs , a New Zealand gamer, who has a really interesting background of falling in love with gaming when she won a lucky draw online. You can watch her talk about this in her 1 hour + video here!
Britta is one of the few YouTubers I'm actively watching their new content, and I think for good reason. She's incredibly authentic with the love she has for her video games, and she has some pretty cool edits in most of them to show gameplay (as well as some narration).
As you can tell, she is older than the typical video game content creator, which was what caught my eye at first. She brought in a very comforting and chill tone from the first video I watched of her (the one where she talks about how she got into gaming, linked above), and she's maintained it throughout the years.
She's an avid collector - she LOVES Persona, multitudes of PS3 games, an interesting penchant for JRPGs, and she even has an entire playlist of 63 videos solely dedicated to her PS Vita console and video game collection. I particularly enjoyed her gushing on this model of a character from one of her favourite video game series, Atelier. You can tell she went through a lot of hoops to get the item - it's cute and it makes me happy that it brought so much joy. Sometimes, things can make you happy!
Honestly, my video game preferences and Britta's don't align that much. I'm not a big fan of JRPGs or the other assortment of video games she plays. She surprisingly finds a lot of niche stuff. But what keeps me in is her passion when she speaks about all of these games, and I feel comforted when I listen to her in the background, as I go about doing some other tasks.
She has plenty of videos where she just unboxes or shows her collection in one game series, and that's where you'll realize she has extensive knowledge in that one thing. I'm guessing she is quite an active lurker around the net for these things!
Interestingly, in her older videos, you can sometimes hear her speak to her husband (who she calls PoodlePa). Her husband used to be her cameraman, back before she got a tripod. From what I can tell, her husband is supportive of her gaming and collecting hobby.
Anyhow, please consider watching her! She's super fun to watch, and she even has her own personal blog going on at the community tab on her channel where she shares what she reads, watches, or does with her husband. I see her interacting with some commenters occasionally, so who knows, you might get to talk to her.
I hope I'll be able to grow old and hang out with my partner this way :)
Thank you for reading, and if you would like to share any thoughts or if you have any questions at all, feel free to leave a comment :)
